Welcome to the web site of the USS Pawcatuck AO-108. We hope that those of you who look at this site will enjoy what has been put into the site.
Well another reunion is now history and we look forward to next year when we will muster in San Antonio, Tx. from Monday May 3rd to Thurs May 6th 2010. The reunion will held at the "Holiday Inn El Tropicano Riverwalk" in San Antonio. This will be our 18th annual reunion. So make your plans now and we will see you all in Texas.
This years reunion in Baltimore/Washington DC was a great one. We had 58 members of the Pawcatuck Family join us and some said it was one of the best reunions that we have ever held.
We saw the following places while there on the 24th of April Air Force Memorial which is up on a hill over looking the DC area. To the east was the Pentagon and to the north was part of Arlington.
We then went to the Navy Memorial and held the dedication of the plaque in memory of our ship and shipmates.
Then after lunch we visited the Korean Memorial and the Vietnam Wall. We ran out of time and did not visit the WWll memorial. On Sat the 25th of April we toured the Naval Academy. What a place with a lot of history. On Sun the 26th we toured Fort McHenry.
The banquet was great and the ladies did a great job in raising money.
Good news we now have a memorial placed at a park in Pawcatuck, Ct. in honor of our ship which was named after the Pawcatuck river which is between the states of Ct. and RI.
Now we look forward to San Antonio and hope many will come and join us.
